A Trade Study of Integrating a Rectenna onto a Satellite Bus
2021 - Present
This research paper is a thesis written in fulfillment of requirements of the Schreyer Honors College. This thesis aims to address the development process of an economically viable, efficient rectenna deployment system to be integrated on satellites for spacecraft-to-spacecraft power transfer.
Background
As a Scholar of the Schreyer Honors College, it is required of me to complete an honors thesis before completing my Bachelor’s degree. The goal of the thesis is to demonstrate a command of relevant scholastic work as a culmination of my honors experience. The thesis document captures the relevant background, methods, and techniques and describes the details of completion of the project.
My thesis research is focused on addressing the development of an economically viable, efficient rectenna deployment system to be integrated on satellites for spacecraft-to-spacecraft power transfer. There are many variables involved in a successful rectenna architecture, so I have chosen to focus on the deployment system, the integration of the rectenna and a satellite bus, and the dynamics problem space of orienting the two involved spacecraft.
